Aurok Ltd - Suspension Specialists

A Less Bumpy Ride
I have Motor Neurone Disease and my weakening muscles had made travelling in my wheelchair in my VW Caravelle extremely uncomfortable. I had always been aware of how terrible the suspension was; it managed to combine the worst traits of both an overly soft and hard setup, crashing over every bump and ridge while rocking horribly over uneven ground. I didn't hold much hope of finding a solution when I typed "suspension modifications" into Google.
Aurok Ltd were one of the few companies that came up so I dropped them a quick email. Within a couple of hours I had received a reply from Dave, the Managing Director offering to come up two days later to look at the problem. I was impressed by the response as the company aren't just some garage doing run of the mill work. They are the UK sole distrubutor for leading manufacturer Ohlins, and are involved in designing suspension setups for many types of motorsport including A1GP (F1 without the egos) so modifying my Caravelle wasn't going to be the most lucrative deal for them.
After test driving it, they agreed that it was pretty poor and they could probably improve it to a degree with some specialist dampers and they came and fitted them. It's definitely better and Dave offered to return if necessary to adjust them further.
So a massive thanks to Aurok for helping me keep mobile for a bit longer.

Just had this kit delivered and fitted it today, excellent results all round. It feels like a proper Evo now. Many thanks to Jules Phillips@Aurok ltd for suppling and revalving these coilovers to a "Aurok" spec. Car is totally transformed....'

Silverstone Stowe circuit, all settings are from hard…
Front 9 rear 12 exciting run with exciting and controllable oversteer.
Front 8 rear 15 oversteer gone front and rear of car ‘gave’ equally, so the balance was perfect but sensed it was a tad too hard, Front 9 rear 16 Balance still spot on and after the 1st corner when the tyres had warmed up I couldn’t stop smiling!
I think I have the balance right running 15mm of rake and would probably soften in equal stages for the tighter hills, the confidence these dampers give me over the old Nitrons is fantastic. If the car moved at all with the old Nitrons when cornering I knew it would end in tears or cost vital time trying to rescue the line, when the car moves now it remains planted and can be driven through the corner with controlled oversteer.
I love them thanks !!!
NB. Stuarts settings remained pretty equal front and rear but we suspect this was because he was running with zero rake.

I'm dropping you a line for 2 reasons, 1st of all I want to thank you for doing an A1 job of refurbing my 46mm Ohlins and liaising with Paul@Chris Neil Lotus.
Secondly, I have had a number of 'specialists' try and set these up for the road, as you know I use mine as a daily driver.
The astonishing thing is I have never been quite happy with what they have set the bump/rebound to for the road. Or should I say the settings become tiring/fatiguing after a little while.
I have to let you know that the base settings that you sent me originally after the refurb for my spring rate/valving are sooooo spot on for everyday use, it's untrue.
FRONT: bump 20 rebound 18
REAR: bump 12 rebound 18
Could you be kind enough to advise on settings I should start with, and work from for a circuit like Anglesey?
Thanks again for everything.
Best regards,
Tal.

I just wanted to take a bit of time to say how happy I was with the work carried out by Aurok (www.aurok.com). They re-valved by Ohlins (JDM) Road/Track full adjustable suspension into something that has made my R32 a proper A/B road racer car.

Dave was a gentleman and must know this stuff to make such a superb job of the dampers without actually seeing the car (I posted them to him!).

I would highly recommend anyone with the Ohlins JDM version to get Aurok to re-valve the dampers and set them up properly on their dyno as it has made a hell of a difference to my car smokin big grin . Original

Hi all, just returned from Aurok ltd who fitted the new Ohlins Road and Track coilovers to Claire's S2000 they are the first S2000 set in the UK so interest was high. They feature DFV dual flow valve technology which keep the tyre in contact with the road more of the time, its complicated so see here-

http://www.roadandtrackbyohlins.com/en/the-technology/

Visually the units are very impressive and have looks to match their £1800 +vat price tag, they seem beautifully built with top quality components and lovely machining used everywhere, even the instructions are excellent with clear information on how they work , exact initial assembly directions, and detailed setup suggestions.
They come 25mm lower than std and are further height adjustable +/-15mm WITHOUT affecting the spring preload. (which is how many others are adjusted),

The engineers at Aurok took initial measurements of the car, ride height and geo so we could put it back together easily. and worked carefully to remove and fit the new units and setup the car. After a few small adjustments to show us the range of adjustability we were on our way. =D> =D>

The ride is setup as road spec as it is a daily driven car but with a few clicks on the adjuster can become a trackday beast, the dampers offer a 30 click adjustment window which can be moved or enlarged if the car is going to be track biased or for competition etc, all the internal adjustments can be made by Aurok in house, the units are also completely rebuildable.
As the units come they are suitable for trackdays and road use out of the box.

With the Ohlins recommended settings the ride itself is very compliant , feeling comfortable and initially felt slightly stiffer than the oem, but giving nice controled motion over all road surfaces we have found so far and still very stable while cornering without excessive roll when pressing on. with the units stiffened the ride was noticeably harder and more go cart like but still didn't get harsh or become easy to break traction. they offer great damping control so use a softer spring unlike being oversprung with poor control like most Japanese units so traction so far has been excellent. We have since softened the damping by 1 click to increase the comfort a little more (i'm getting on a bit) which is just about perfect.

Overall we are very happy with the units, they offer great ride quality and adjustment scope for the future too incase trackdays become more regular, I would have to recommend The Ohlins Dampers and Aurok fitting shop to anyone wanting the ultimate ride and adjustability especially if their car is dual purpose. :xcheers: Ohlins and Aurok.

Currently (they are very new ;) ) they are not available for the DC5 but are for the EP3 so you would just need to add some EP3 trackrod ends and 4x1mm spacers (for the rears) to the job for a compatible fitment. But contact Aurok as they will have more info. expect fitting and setup to cost approx £250
