RavOctober 2011
Glastonbury rally driver Paul Lund has just returned from a second successive class win in the French Tout-Terrain rally championship.
Paul was contesting the Dunes et Marais Rally which runs over three days in the south West of France, 500 miles from Dieppe.
This event is the biggest rally of the year with 123 starters in all different classes. Paul competes in the production class for cars up to 2 litres in an unique Toyota Rav4 with regular co-driver Ross Gill.
He says: "The Rav has all the usual bits and pieces - it's built to FIA rally rules. It's got a Blue printed engine that has been re-mapped to around 180bhp. Other mods came from Ohlins and the race suspension was supplied by Aurok."

At the ACSMC prize giving on Feb 7th 2011, 2 of our customers came away with awards. Karam Dhala - 1st overall in the Hamilton Classic Loose Surface Rally Championship. His co-driver Angelica Fuentes - 1st overall, Class E Co-driver in the Loose Surface Championship. And Ian Gaskill - 2nd overall Hamilton Classic Hillclimb Championship. Congratulations from all at Aurok! Best of luck for 2011 season!

ANTARTIC25th November - 17th December 2010
We can now announce that Aurok were behind the successful development for the dampers used on the Ice Vehicle that made this epic journey and we are listed as a sponsor too. You can read about their success at The Moon Regan Transantarctic Expedition. "The team have completed the first there-and-back vehicle crossing of the Antarctic continent. The 10-man team left Union Glacier on 25 November and arrived, via the Geographic South Pole, on the Ross Ice Shelf on 9 December. They then retraced their tracks and completed the return journey on 17 December. In all they covered nearly 4,000 km and travelled for 20 days, 12 hours and 30 minutes."

DAMPERS: Rally and Off-Road

New generation Öhlins TPX/TTX rally damper

Öhlins Racing AB has had a strong grip on the rally scene for quite some time, but cars and drivers are in constant evolution and now it is time to launch the next generation of dampers. Aurok is proud to present the new TPX/TTX generation of rally dampers.

The new generation dampers are 3-way adjustable, both for high and low speed compression as well as rebound. McPherson struts feature a dual piston layout, and conventional dampers are twin tube TTX units. Both are fully pressure balanced, eliminating the risk of cavitation and due to low gas pressure, they keep the internal friction level low.

DAMPERS: Saloon Racing

New generation TTX40/46MT MkII damper

Now it is time to take racing to another level. hlins is proud to present the new TTX40/46MT MkII damper, a further improved version of our flagship.

As before, the TTX40 MkII twin tube damper features a 40mm solid piston and a through rod shaft, eliminating the requirement of an external reservoir. The damper is still a fully independent four-way adjustable, but due to an updated design of the valves, it offers even better stability and control, especially at high damping frequencies. For increased rigidity and durability, the piston shafts are now 14mm on the NH06 and NH08 varieties.

Accompanying the new TTX40 MkII , is the McPherson strut TTX46MT MkII. the concept features a 46mm solid piston with a through rod of 30mm, providing a rigid and lightweight strut. To further improve the rigidity of this damper the outer tube is made from a special aluminium alloy. Still a four-way adjustable, it provides a wide range of adjustment without even taking the strut off the car. Of course, it has all the benefits from a positive pressure build-up.
